John Williams and the ASO

In May, the ASO celebrated the music of John Williams, highlighting his music for cinema. On our double date with Cooper and Margo, we had a big surprise - greeting (or rather threatening) you as you entered was Darth Vader and his troops. You know who was thrilled! During the Star Wars montage, Darth Vader took over the conducting... It was a great concert!

VBS at the Shore!

It was time to head to the beach! The first weekend of June was VBS at the Holy Spirit, and we went to the Rocky Point Lighthouse! It was a great weekend "at the shore" learning that God is our light, and learning ways to shine our light. We had several friends come and participate with us - we had a blast!

Candice lead the music, opening and closing ceremonies. Paul made a special appearance as Light Man and taught the kids how much fun it is to shine your light! Any man who is willing to be wrapped in rope light and dance around is a man who loves his kids. Paul/Light Man was a hit, and the kids reported he was their favorite part. Sunday morning, Candice led the kids while they lead the sermon and service music. We think it was the best VBS. Plus, it included "Amazing Grace," "This Little Light of Mine," and several Chris Rice songs - great music!

Happy Lent...

Here is what we Chenaults are giving and doing for Lent:

Paul: Giving up soft drinks, and I'm going to Cursillo in March
Candice: Giving up fried foods and white bread, and I am practicing meditative prayer daily
Graham: Giving up chocolate (but not brownies), and I am going to Let My Light Shine*
Rob: I don't know what I'm giving up, but I am going to Let My Light Shine*

*Let My Light Shine" comes from a song we've listened to a lot from Hillsong Kids. The song sings about letting your light shine in the world and letting Jesus's light shine in you. It's a pro rock version of "This Little Light of Mine." We've had a lot of conversations lately about how we can let our light shine, and so far its mainly not hitting my brother and listening to Mommy and Daddy.

Social Media Master Paul Chenault

Hey friends and family on Facebook: go to Jim N Nicks - Alabaster and "like" the page to keep up on promotions, new products and just JNN news! You'll also be supporting Paul.

Paul is now managing the social media for the Alabaster Jim N Nicks store. He'll be posting food recommendation, store news, menu changes and promotions daily. Social media is such a powerful tool for business promotion, and proving to impact customer retention and new customer acquisition. In our Smart Phone and Social Media age, pushing promotions and information of value to customers frequently is essential to be relevant and compete for market share. The best part - Facebook and other social media is free, and isn't free advertising the best?

So, Paul is studying and testing this, and he is pretty excited about it. I will push him to share more on the blog soon.
